Summary: Pre-series AU in which Sam and Dean are not brothers. Eighteen-year-old Sam Remington used to be a street hustler. Now, thanks to his high IQ and his determination to earn himself a safe, normal life, he’s a scholarship student at Stanford University. Dean Winchester is a hunter of the supernatural; the son of one of the best hunters in the business. A case takes Dean and his father to Palo Alto and they quickly realize that they’re dealing with Faeries-the dangerous, Wild Hunt sort, not the Disney sort. When Dean is forced to make a deal with the Faerie King, and fate pushes Sam into his path, the destinies of the two young men are changed forever.
A/N: This is hooker!fic. Sort of. It’s also case!fic. Kind of. There is flagrant abuse of Welsh mythology and pagan mythology/ritual: no disrespect is intended. The portrayal of the Stanford admissions office is in no way meant to reflect reality. Stanford in general is possibly quite inaccurate… Despite all the warnings, the story is really not as dark as it sounds…and it has a happy ending!
