Day 4: A female character you relate to
You could interpret this in any number of ways. I decided to go with a merge of a character I sympathise with/wish I could be/ see elements of myself in. As such I am probably somewhat undeserving, and yet unreservedly, claiming the brilliant Jane Eyre.
I cannot even express how great I think Jane is. What I probably most admire about her is her quiet strength. She is gentle without being submissive, reserved without being retreating, and independent without being 'rebellious' if you like. She is faithful, inquistive and incredibly loving. I see the best parts of myself in her, and the rest is what I aspire to. Yet she isn't flawless, she gets scared and leaps to judgments too quickly on occasion. Hands down my favourite first person narrator in all of literature.
"I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will." - Jane Eyre
