So, it's been a battle to get Ruby to use our backyard as a bathroom...until today. While Chad was home for lunch, I wanted him to take a few pictures of Ruby standing up next to me so my mom could see how big she was. Well, we got outside and I smelled shit. I figured it was from one of the dogs that lives behind us. So, Chad takes a few pictures

Ah, but when you become a parent-- either two or four footed, you just have to get used to being smeared on by all orifices at some point or another.

At any rate, what Ruby might be doing is enzyme hunting. Sometimes dogs lack a certain enzyme in their digestive tract and the only place to get it, since their diet is lacking it at the moment, is from their own or other dogs' droppings.

Sprinkle a little Adohrs Meat Tenderizer over her food and she'll stop it. I always thought this was a folk myth until my stepmother's dog stopped his nasty habit as soon as she started adding a little of it to his food-- and later, when asked, the vet explained the more scientific reason.
