Seriously, just about the only thing it was missing, from what I could tell, were the invisible-penis sex scenes/magical glow crotch sex scenes. (Although I guess the Angel wing shot just about covers both of these things.)

IF I HAD TO GUESS, I would say it's because Matt is more the normal type for yaoi? Pointy chinned, baby-faced pretty-boy with soft, floppy bangs falling over one eye: almost a classic Bishi boy look there. Juan looks more like...I dunno, rival gang leader in a shounen series or something. (Poor Juan...not muscular enough for Bara, not pretty enough for Yaoi, he is so unappreciated.)

QUIETLY AND FUTILELY WISHING HE COULD ESCAPE THIS MADNESS AND GO BACK TO HIS NICE, SAFE, QUIET, BORING OFFICE AND WRITE SOME BRIEFS. File some paperwork, make some phonecalls, maybe have a sammich, but NOOO

I actually found the bench spot sweet, I was "aww"ing and then suddenly ANGELS FROM NOWHERE

way to ruin a good moment series.
