To those of you who have never heard of Cat Empire they are the ultimate ozzy-hip-hippy band for Edinburgh urban hippies. Their CD is a fusion of off beat ska/reggae, latin, hip hop and everything that shouldn't mix up well but they make it work. It is one of the rare CD's that I would rate with a 8 or 9 out of ten. Great big fire shows and rain do not usually go well together. Fact. The Kirkcaldy show last weekend was no exception to the rule, it rained out the day before and it rained out on the day. I've constructed all the difficult internal/structural parts to the jet pack I'm making for the Kirkcaldy show and tested the electrics which, surprisingly, worked first time. As it's going so well I'm debating in my mind if I should go the whole hog and add all the optic fibres and LEDs that I have been offered to make it truely sci-fi tastic. ( Read more... )
