Had a friend link this on their page... and since I'm suffering from the whole after A-kon high/low syndrome... I figured I'd at least inquire since I'd like to help but haven't a clue what to get. Nothing for females interests me and to be honest it was actually your post also about cancer that got to me. Nice of you to donate when you're hard put on finances yourself. Kicked the idea around a bit in my head and figured you were probably on the up and level.
What kind of things do you sell for a man who doesn't wear jewelry, has no one to give jewelry to, and hates having pictures of himself taken. ROFL. I'm figuring price limit $40 to 50.
Check out deviantArt to see what other kinds of art I make. I have drawings, intaglio prints, and photography I can get prints of. If you see anything you like, let me know. I have drawers of stuff that isn't properly photographed yet, too. Maybe you need a nifty abstract monotype to hang in the livingroom? I have about 130 of these, all different, all one-of-a-kind originals, that I could let go for $50; matted and ready for a 16x20 frame for $65. I also have smaller drawings and darkroom printed photographs that would be in your budget. See what you like and I'll make it happen. :)
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. Nothing really super caught my eye. =/
I was thinking -- what if I just do a gift certificate of say $45 for an IOU art/matt&frame job since it sounds like you matt and frame? Occasionally get too tempted at A-kon art show and can't resist buying a print or something. A few years back, there was one bad matt job. And if it comes up again in the next 5 years... well I'd be covered. =P
If not: A couple of the scenery things were okay but I don't see it in my cramped apartment. "Silk", "swirly-wip", and "mindgames" were also okay but again, not sure I'd have a place for it. And I'm probably being overly self-conscious but feel embarrassed to say "Bondage Love" is probably my favorite image. Strong image.
All those are options but whatever works best for you. Primary purpose should be whatever will help you the best on this.
Which one? If it's the one on Etsy, buying it online and leaving feedback helps my ratings. :) Shipping is free thru Saturday so I can just give it to you next time I see you or mail it if that's easier.
This clicked a memory but dang I had closed the window before the thought hit me... lol.
"6-3-09 Free shipping continues through Saturday July 6 only!! Shop now and save!"
I take it you meant June 6th? Suddenly this comment as I was closing the window and the fact that July 6th was a holiday for my company so had to be a weekday... made me realize the Etsy site probably meant June 6th and NOT July 6th.
