my wonderful trip to the dentist.

so my alarm went off at 7:40am this morning.  a short three and a half hours after i set it.  my bed wasn't made because my mom was washing my sheets and thats always fun.  to be so tired all you want to do is jump on your bed, put your head on your pillow and sleep.  only to walk into your room and find stuffed animals strewn about everywhere and your bed stripped down to the white under-comforter thing.

needless to say i was a little cranky when i woke up and i kept yelling at my mom for making my dentist appointment so fucking early in the morning.  i swear to god i hate her sometimes.  and i dont appreciate her at all.  you can have her if you want.  anyone?  no...  too bad.  well anyway, i got up, took a shower, got dressed and we actually got to the dentists on time.  which was surprising.

usually this one lady cleans my teeth, and i like her a lot.  she has brown hair, she's probably around 40, and she looks smart.  and she knows me, she seems to remember everything i've ever told her.  my age, my trips to europe every other year, where i go to school, what grade i'm in, where i want to go to college, and pretty much everything else.  i've been going to that same dentist my whole life (so did my dad for a large part of his) but they must have a couple hundred patients.  i couldn't remember all of that.

but she wasn't there today...  there was this young blonde lady that looked like she was about 24.  she was nice enough i suppose but she made me wear these stupid black "safety glasses."  which is the dumbest thing ever.  and then she took x-rays of my teeth.  you know, where they put those plastic-y rectangular things into your mouth and you have to bite down and hold it.  even though it feels like the corners are slowly digging their way through the bottom of your mouth.  so she did the molars, and that was fine.  it didn't hurt too badly.  but then the x-ray of the right bi-cuspid or however you spell it didn't come out right.  so she had to do it again...  but it still didn't work.  so she did it again.  and she kept sticking her finger in my mouth and running it along my teeth so it'd be perpendicular to the x-ray machine and would take a good picture...  it turns out that doesn't work very well...  so the dentist came by and told her a better way to do it.  so she re-did the right one again.  and then she red did the left one twice.  and i couldn't help but notice that she forgot to put the lead thing over me the last three times...  i wanted to ask her "so...  which communitiy college did you graduate from?" but i restrained myself.

she didn't clean my teeth very well anyway and she kept talking about how i need to floss (which i actually do) but it still got annoying.  she wouldn't shut up and it really seemed like she had absolutely no clue what she was doing.  but i finally got to leave.

and now i'm hungry.  but you have to wait a half hour before you can eat.  going to the dentist always makes me hungry.  sort of like chapel.  i wonder why that is...
