So...I've created another 'hood. I've been playing with it for a couple of weeks, too. I was just going to create the terrain and then wait for the next EP to play with it, but after seeing that this new one seemed to have almost no issues whatsoever, I tried playing with it. And fell in love with it. No bugs. NO BUGS. Well, there is a hairline fracture in one of the roads, but you have to really be looking to find it. No carpool issues, either.
The liveable area is a lot smaller than Asherton since it is an island and since half of it is mountainous. That means that there are only approximately 35 lots. These are small, Zaza-type lots, too. Since I knew I'd be letting the CC floodgates fall, I knew I wasn't going to share a built version of this one. That means that the biggest lot I have really is a few 15x15s. I think there's a 16x10 or 16x12 smashed in there somewhere. The result is a really intimate community that I've been building up as new houses are needed.
The way everything is laid out lends to beautiful views. Abelline is based on my last TS2 neighborhood which I played in between the date TS3 first dropped and CAW came out. That was around four months, which is long for me. It features loads of coastal areas, a large internal lake, a waterfall (new to the TS3 version), some random rocky land to traverse, and a huge mountain with little landings all the way up.
There are two main outlying islands with bits of rocks scattered in the ocean. The island that houses the lighthouse is almost completely rough terrain and is only reachable by boat. The other island has a long bridge leading to the mainland and holds the military base and hospital.
My founder sim lives about halfway up the mountain. Hers is the only lot on that level. Higher up, almost at the apex, there is a level area that houses two residential lots and the graveyard. The mountain is the most collectible-rich area of Abelline.
From her house, you can see the majority of the main living area. Abelline is covered in vegetation (mostly banana plants, palms, and tons of bulrushes).
The center of town is almost exclusively paved. Some of the homes have fenced off grassy areas, but most are stark concrete to contrast with the beach and the lush mountain.
Still, there's plenty of foliage in town if you know where to look. This is the main park. Despite it being around 12x10, I classified it as a large park. The large fountain and flagpole is not actually on a lot...that is just a combination of neighborhood objects added in CAW.
Townies seem to be hankering for the koi pond from Asherton. I'm not sure if they'll get a dedicated fishing hole. Space is at a premium.
Special community lots are being worked on. Unlike Asherton, the gym is rather small, while the library...
...is insanely huge. I learned from the last library and have filled this one with loads of armchairs and couches.
My founder is slowly working on the community garden. It will feature only one or two of every crop, but each will be in perfect condition. Right now, I actually have ten crops planted and others are working on maturing and improving in her personal garden.
Protesting in the middle of the road is super smart, but then what do you expect from a guy who is protesting against what appears to be a yeti in a tropical island neighborhood?
