in a bush by the train tracks a little girl crawls out her sleeping bag, a small scratch to get the sand from off her scalp, stretches her long arms out and in mid-yawn with one eye open her whole stops. few a feet beyond the tracks there is broad nothingness where once was buildings. surprised how it all just vanished, seeing foundations still ( Read more... )

is a little too hot but otherwise i cannotcomplain. the land is green oasis a miracle born of empty rocks and sand ground. i have everything in a single backpack and am ready to bolt like a rabbit the second that the lights get too bright but so far everything is dim and pretty and my eyes dont hurt when i wake up. mydreams arecolorful and full of animals, many lions in the savannah of mymind. above my bed is the tapestry with the om symbol and when i look at it long enough i find peace... above myhead is half of a picture of a girl smiling in green and i know that somewhere in her pocket i am smiling too. i am 25 kilometers from nazareth. on saturday everyone rests and i hitchhike to the druze village to rub the pretty fabric on my face and grin, in the evening i play cards, drink beer, write letters and read my science fiction books until i am drowsy. the summer unfolds like this: hours of study and landscaping work until i am brown and strong,swimming with the argentians, 4am serbian kisses and laughter. this is paradise except you ( ... )
