Ok this has to be one of the weirdest things I have ever seen.  Its left me gapping and astonished that Disney actually released it.  It is so not their brand.  But let me tell you the cover sure makes it look like it is targeting young kids.  I however would hate to be the parent who tries to explain this to a young child.( Read more... )

While people rave over PRINCESS MONONOKE and  NAUSICAA, WHISPER  OF THE HEART is a delightful little movie, always,  gets overlooked.  If it is remembered it is only for the very odd versions of the John Denver song, COUNTRY ROADS, that is an integral part of the story.  ( Read more... )

To many Miyazaki is the pinnacle of Japanese Animation, the Japanese Disney.  I however am not one to give anyone unconditional approval.  Not George Lucas, not Gene Roddenberry, not Walt Disney and definitely not Miyazaki, Hayao.  PRINCESS MONONOKE is a beautiful, preachy bore.  ( Read more... )

I had such hopes for this anime.  The directors Kazuki Akane and Kenji Yasuda have created a lot of Animes I loved.  ESCLAFLOWNE, TURN A GUNDAM, WOLF'S RAIN  and FULL METAL AlCHEMIST  to name a few.  But they are also responsible for ones where i wish could reclaim the hours i wasted like, GENESHAFT, and BOOGIEPOP PHANTOM Sadly NOIEN owes more to ( Read more... )
