Coachella Über Alles

No Coachella line up today, but Arcade Fire better play, I just bought my Arcade Führer t-shirt from Hipster Hitler today. Got it yellow in case we do the "gay lemmings in yellow shirt thing" again this year, I can't wear the same yellow shirt two years in a row. Secretly, I'm really hoping that Rick Astley headlines.

Last year it came out the Wednesday after MLK to much pre-fanfare from KROQ. Until they start building up momentum I'm not going to buy into the rumors about the release date.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the yellow shirts and it did come in handy. I did it last year with the "official" shirt and if it's yellow, I'm ready this year. I liked the Death Camp for Cutie shirt on HH, but without them playing it would be a bit random, and I do like the Arcade Führer one.

The colors and background images have changed on the Coachella discussion boards. If it doesn't happen tomorrow then I'd say next Monday.

There was a fake lineup last week(even Hits Daily Double magazine was fooled & got excited). Arcade Fire & Neil Young(along with Underworld/A Tribe Called Quest/Scissor Sisters/ Big Boi/Mumford and Sons) on the first day would had been a big way to open Coachella with a bang. Then the next two days Daft Punk/ Beastie Boys/Duran Duran/Feist/ The Roots/Cage The Elephant/Stephen Marley/OMD/Gary Numan/Kanye West/The Strokes/Pulp/Chemical Brothers/P.J. Harvey/Cee-Lo/Tom Tom Club. I understand why everybody was getting hype. What a big let down it was a fake line up or is it. Maybe they haven't got everyone committed to the show or negotiations haven't finalized yet. We'll see.

This happens each year so I'm used to it. Ever since they added Madonna and Kanye at the last moment one year we now have rumors about suprise acts right up to the day of the show. Lot of people on your fake lineup will probably be there, some of them have let it slip that they are coming, others are in the area between shows elsewhere. Gary Numan will probably come because he was scheduled last year and had to canx because of the volcano in Iceland and he's said he wants to make it up.

Rick Astley would be far better than Arcade Fire.

In fact Arcade Fire covering Rick Astley tunes: now that might get me to listen to their sub-Radiohead dirge.

Actually I'm being harsh, I apparently like one of their songs...the recent one that doesn't sound like them, the poppy one.

I like that one.
