I want to read Jennifer Government, but other than that, I donnt really have anything lined up (except maybe the immoralist ( Read more... )

Definately read Jennifer Government. It's awesome. I think you'll also like Syrup by Max Barry (he spells it "Maxx" on that one to be funny...). It's about a guy who's this marketing genius who keeps getting fucked over, and this girl he likes who is also a marketing genius whose name is 6. It's a lot more interesting than I make it sound, really. :) I liked it even better than Jennifer Government (which says a lot, because I loved that one). I bought mine on Amazon and they did one of those "buy this book with this book and save lots of money" deals for them, so they were cheap.

Also, if you've not yet read "America: The Book," get crackin'.... anything by Jon Stewart has to be pee-in-your-pants funny. I know I nearly did. But I suspect that you may have already read it. Maybe read it again. :)

the website has me interested in Max...he seems very creative, and the idea behind his books makes me think of Palahniuc, which is good because I loved fight club and survivor.

and I absolutly have to read America...it just looks awesome. And he called that guy a dick.

that other book sounds like something I would like alot...even if I do hate math.

and machiavelli...I plan to run freshman classes with his theories. And take over the world. I mean....um...kill bush. Er...um...no, thats what I meant.

and the damn coke lime in the coke song has got to have some kind of subliminal message. My roommate learned it on guitar.

I saw a pair of panties online last night that said on them, "The only Bush I trust is my own."

When I have $12, I'm buying them. :)

Oh, and one more: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. It's about an autistic kid who gets caught up in finding out who killed his neighbor's dog. It's really fun to read... the kid is really good at math and has all these weird quirks (i.e. he hates brown things and loves red things), so the book is full of mathematical diagrams, pictures, and quotes like "it was a brown thing inside a red thing, which made me feel all funny inside." I read it in a sitting. Very awesome.

And yes, read Machiavelli. I loved it... and it's how I intend to someday take over the world. Muwahaha.

Demian, by herman hesse.
sort of like portrait of the artist, only MUCH better.
and with a different, more bruce-friendly ending.

Also, take a read through the Chronicles of Narnia again (if you haven't read them, oh man bruce, you are behind) b/c second time through they make a hell of a lot more sense, and mean a hell of a lot more to you.

Picture of Dorian Gray
harry potter...they're good...
