This morning demonstrated one of the perils of being very near-sighted. I woke up when I felt the cat on my bed - moving as if she had one of the sticky mouse traps stuck to her foot. I reached out and pulled it off her foot and put it on the desk next to my bed. Only at that point did I realize that there was a mouse also stuck to the trap. Yuck! ( Read more... )

I am sorry you had to find the mouse that way, but I had a good chuckle at your expense! thanks for sharing.

Note to self - keep the sticky traps where the cat can't reach them.....

Unfortunately, even if the traps are inside the pantry door, the cat can stick her foot under to get them.

One of my former cats was really good at catching and killing mice. Maddie seems to think that mice are just mobile cat toys.

I've got a few sticky traps around my house for scorpions. Never thought about what my cat might do with them - I have to double check where I put them!

Talk about a rude awakening or wake up call. I just hope that you removed Maddie's appendage and not any of the formerly mobile cat toy. And if Maddie sees certain rodent uninvited houseguests and grocery smugglers as mobile cat toys, I wonder what my cat from when I was a kid thought of the rabbits' feet that she used to love to chase, drag around and dunk in her water bowl. Were they amputated/detached/dismembered former mobile cat toys? Point to ponder.

May you continue your battle of pristine hygiene and disinfecting. Definitely a day for meals without finger food!

On the other hand, score a kill for Maddie? Assist?

Maddie isn't good at killing mice, although I did find one once in her water dish - she liked to dunk her cat toys in the dish too. She is pretty good at chasing them onto the sticky traps though. : )

Oh the dreaded waterboarding… Cats seem to have an affinity for it. She's also perfecting her herding skills. That's coordination and stra-tee-juh-ree! Keep those eyes peeled, sts. ; )

I'm sure that mice have their own grocery lists - and have food, will travel.
Ick.

I just wish that the mice would choose somewhere else to do their grocery shopping.

I suppose that outdoors is too dangerous. I once saw a hawk eating a bird on the lawn near my living room window so mice are probably just a tiny snack item. : )
