Bike Stolen ... Please Help ... Donate If You Can ... Thanks x 1000!

My bike and trailer were stolen a few days back while I was bed-ridden with pneumonia. As many of you know, it was the only mode of transport for me, th'kiddo, and all our necessities. I'm raising funds to help cover some small portion of the replacement costs. Most of the $500 - 1000 it will cost me will be going on credit, regrettably. My ( Read more... )

It's nice to know so many people read me inside an afternoon. What's the significance of eight for you?

Dude that sucks. I'm sorry. My bike is also my only mode of transportation for now. If I could afford to help you out I would, but I honestly can't.

Someone's gotto be a pretty lousy person to steal a bike with a kid seat, trailer, fuzzy blanket, and pink bunny helmet. I didn't expect this would work to well but all the warm thoughts are comforting. Do you ride by choice or monetary necessity or as in my case, kind of both?

Well, I have a car, but it's in Alaska, and I'm in Washington for the time being. I bought a bike for $10 (you can imagine the state it's in), I added a basket, and I've been using it since last October. I don't like to complain, or be lazy, but sometimes there are things I need to buy that I can't carry on my bike. It sucks.

Wow, you rode through the winter, and in WA. Good for you. Be proud! It didn't sound to me like you were complaining. Just saying it straight/keeping it real. There are SOME things that one cannot carry on a bike. It's all I ever known so usually I don't think twice. My parents have had to help me move about once a year on average since I was 18 so I still get nervous asking for help since I haven't practiced enough to win my liscence yet.

I have gotten pretty creative out of necessity when I forgot the trailer in the past since I tend to go for a gallon of milk and return with three bulging bags of shit. I'm lucky the theft happened before I managed to buy, get home with, and install a new kid seat, which would have set mew back another cool 175.

Thanks for trying. I just noticed that too when I ran a test on it. It was working earlier. How strange! I'll get it working again soon.

Sorry, it isn't much, but I hope it helps! Thanks for an updated link. I am soooo sorry for what has happened, I can hardly explain how sad it gets me when bad things happen to good people. Pneumonia, poor man. I have been sick for a month, it seems. Not a bit of fun. Are you still nicotine free?! Let me tell ya this, it is a BITCH at first. You don't think you'll EVER be able to do it, but then it starts to get easier, you start to feel proud of yourself. You start to taste and smell things as never before, or so it seems. The smell of a cigarette is repulsive once you've quit. The most noticeable change that is immediate is the ability to breathe better. I don't know what type of smoker you were, but I smoked a pack of marb mediums a day for 10 years straight. I needed to quit. Like you, I had a hard time finding much support. Go here "whyquit.com" and you'll see some pretty gruesome pics of some younger folks who died QUICK once their lung cancer was diagnosed.. I have been nicotine free for two months now!! Let me know how the ( ... )

Oh My Lord of Agnostics! Thank you so much. I could never have asked for that much. Don't feel obligated to pinch your next check; you've done plenty already and with the other help so far, my daughter skull will be safe (and styling) when we get back on the road. I can't understand how someone can be so low as to steal not only a bike, but a kid seat, beat up trailer, fuzzy blanket, and pink bunny helmet. Better be some damn good crack to put a struggling family at a loss for weeks on end. It's funny, they made a better person out of me by strengthening my resolve of never wanting to screw over even a perfect stranger ( ... )

You can promote me anytime! ;)
I don't know about you, but I can't smoke just every so often. I have to not smoke at all to have any sort of control over that habit. But good luck with whatever you decide to do. For me, getting free of the nicotine hold is worth not smoking.
I figured out about Iugzds too late :( Funny, I figured a friend of yours could be a friend of mine :) Shoulda' known in was spam.
Hang in there! Oh and I can't listen to the track link as I can't find it now??? confusing. Perhaps I'll try again when the light from the computer screen is not making my head pound! ciao

I was naive with iugzds too. I got dooped before I realized the journal was reverse order selections from a novel sprinkled with get rich quick schemie ads. I figured someone who friended me could be friended but guess I'm a sucker sometimes. One more reason to talk to someone before befriending them. Wish I could get them off my list. Oh wait, I can ban them but not sure what that accomplishes. If I had your email I could send the link that way as well as any other nonsense we come up with. Don't write it out here; Message it in reply to mine (on the way). A'ight, Peace!
