Did you ever see what happens to digital satellite signal during thunderstorm? Same stuff happens to digital signal in crappy cables susceptible to interference from outside interference due to crappy shielding.

Fair enough. I tend to think 24AWG offers more than ample shielding for my HDMI cables and I've never had a problem with thm. I've never had the uber Monster cables to actually compare signal quality, but considering it's digital and I don't get the satellite effect, I's think there would be no difference.

Well, I brought the "pixelation effect" just as an example of what happens when the digital signal doesn't get to where it's going in its entirety. I never compared the cables myself either, but when the bits of data don't get where they supposed to you loose that info. Who knows how the loss of data is handled inside the device, especially for audio. It's not like internet, when you have your packets resend to you by the server if they are lost in midstream.
