I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. I just finished an 11-page paper for my History class awhile back, and they said to do your research from books and not to use WP. I had like 5 books on my topic, and just out of curiosity, I looked up my topic on WP. Well, needless to say WP was a little less than accurate on some details, but as far as a starting point for understanding the topic at hand, I think it's a great way to dive into a paper. Profs saying that it can't be used is just BS. You're totally right, whether or not it's allowed, it's gonna be used. A friend of mine in my History class doing the same paper got almost all of his info off of WP, and he's just throwing in random sources from books he hasn't really read, haha. What can you do? People are gonna use it whether or not it's 100% accurate and allowed.
