Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Although a complete amateur, Shiroe has both psionic and telepathic abilities. This means he’s good for probing (and speaking into) other’s minds, ‘understanding’ strong feelings and launching people across rooms with a boyish yell, omnious glow and hand flip. Typical stuff, though Shiroe’s also a “type Yellow,” which means he seems to specialize in destructive attacks. Never formally trained in any of it, he needs to be Very Emotional to summon up his power.

Weapons: No weapons, but he will be bringing a scoffed-and-burnt copy of Peter Pan. It may count if he uses it to bludgeon people over the head with it.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: A few centuries ago - five centuries, to be exact - humanity stopped, took a look at the nuclear-wasted world they’d created with all of the wars going on, and decided that Earth was pretty much one big dump. And that it was all humanity’s fault (which it kind of was). Figuring things unrepairable, all survivors packed up onto ships and took off to search for a new planet, and though they never did find one that completely replaced Earth - also known as ‘Terra’ - they did manage to find some decent ‘colony’ planets. They formed a new government, called Superior Domination, or S.D., set up space stations, banned natural reproduction and perfected the art of artificial creation, of controlling people’s minds-all while waiting out the stabilization of Terra, so that when humanity was able to return, they wouldn’t repeat past mistakes.

Which was all well and good, because once they learned how to erase virtually any memory they wanted to (as they would do during “Maturity Checks” at the age of fourteen, where they would wipe any memory of those fourteen ‘home-life’ years), people were pretty compliant with how things went.

And then the Mu began to show up.

They were genetic mutations in humanity, beings that had powers that no one else did. They could probe minds, have psionic strength, and resist the S.D.’s “control” very well. One of the first to be detected, ‘Blue’ and a few others were put under lock-down, experimented and tested on by scientists all across the galaxy. Predictably, these Mu weren’t so happy about that. They escaped, and in the ensuring chase, the entire city they’d been held in was destroyed.

Still, they got away. In one big mammoth of a ship, really- they built on it and built on it for three centuries (this being two centuries after humanity left Terra), grew in number by ‘rescuing’ their kin from the lone city they laid low by- Ataraxia- and utilizing the fact that they had life-spans the length of No One Knows, and generally scrapped by on pure luck. They were afraid of ‘normal humans,’ plagued with an old impulse to find Terra, but never having the stomach to actually leave. “A few more centuries,” was the general thought.

And then Blue discovered another Type Blue (the strongest type, by the way: it went green-yellow-blue, and there’d only ever been one other blue before-) named Jomy, a boy that swept in and made the Mu actually move. Well, alright, he made the Mu wake up by making the Mu be discovered, but it was a decent thing of him to do. He’d taken over ‘Soldier Blue’s’ job, due to Blue falling into a heavy sleep over rescuing Jomy’s careless teenaged self, but the first Mu that he tried to recruit from Ataraxia didn’t think he was a very good Soldier.

That first Mu was Shiroe, a happy, blissful, smart ten year old with a recent obsession with Peter Pan. His father was, ironically, part of the engineering team designing weapons on destroying very large areas, all the while plotting to ruin the Mu as Jomy visited Shiroe in his dreams, and (far too quickly) informed the kid about how he’d forget everything he ever loved when he turned fourteen and then get killed for being a Mu, so he’d better come to the ship, alright, bucko? … Well, no, said Shiroe. The two ended up using their powers on each other - Jomy won, after freezing a panicked Shiroe’s mother - and maybe Jomy would’ve just taken Shiroe to the ship anyway, but said ship was under attack. Remember how Jomy’d made the Mu be discovered? And Mr. Seki was hot on the case? Yeah. He hastily wiped Shiroe’s memory of the encounter, before retreating to the Mu’s ship and forcing them all to leave their temporary home for outer space, headed straight for where their hearts called them to: Terra. And while they were gallivanting around space, Shiroe turned fourteen, and low and behold, was maturity checked and shipped off to Station E-1077, a training station for the S.D.’s military (also home of the elite ‘Members’).

Shiroe’d taken badly to the maturity check, possibly because of the repressed incident with Jomy, possibly because of his latent awesome powers-whatever it was, it led to him criticizing his own classmates for being ‘sheep,’ for cracking jokes on the Supreme Being of the S.D. government (called “Mother”), and generally acting like an uppity brat. Keith Anyan, supposed ‘perfect human, made by Mother,’ a man without any memories or emotions (as far as anyone could tell), a senior Elite Member, was the target of Shiroe’s ire and interest, making the Mu determined to prove that Keith could fail. This determination turned into something of a dangerous interest, Shiroe provoking Keith into a ‘friendly archer contest’ and goading the other until Keith really did snap and punched him. That led to an even bigger problem, as Keith was sent to have a ‘talk’ with Mother, while Shiroe explored Station E-1077, sneaking in places kids generally shouldn’t go. All in search of an answer to Keith.

He discovered a hidden lab, containing tanks of specimens - all of which suspiciously looked like mini-Keiths. Floor 001, it was called, and though he hacked into the computer containing files, the security patrol caught him before he could find anything out for sure. The security, not being too happy about some punk loitering around off-limit zones, dragged him off to be checked again for psionic power, triggering Shiroe’s Fear reflex - that is, forgetting things - and therefore allowing him to use his powers to escape. But by this time, ‘Moby Dick’ (the Mu’s ship) seemed to be passing by the Station, and Jomy sent out a telepathic calling for information on Terra- an act that hit Keith and his friend Sam’s (who also knew Jomy, when a child) ship, and forced them to return early, Sam in an emotional fit and Keith hailed a hero.

Sam’s memories were to be wiped, but Keith returned on to his room; and happened upon Shiroe, who was hiding behind a plant in a fairly weak and about-to-suffer-a-heart-attack condition, for once listening to the Mu when he said ‘he had something to tell you, Anyan.’ So Keith takes the passed out kid to his room, sets him down, and begins an interrogation when he wakes up. Not that there was a lot of prodding involved in getting Shiroe to talk. The problem was that their meeting was cut short as security once again barged in- Seki made sure Keith would ‘remember to check Floor 001’ before he was flat-out tasered and taken away. Keith had his time to ponder on this event, but the very next day, the Mu were back! And Jomy reduced the entire Station population to children and sent the system haywire in one telepathic message! So Keith was the lucky guy who had to save the day once more by booting everything back up- whereupon Mother informed him of how Shiroe had escaped in a ship during the blackout, and could Keith be a darling and get him for her?

Yeah, sure. Keith flew after Shiroe - who was having a bit of a Mu-psycho fit, powers going wild and torn, old Peter Pan book the only possession he’d kept from childhood being read from memory - and tried to get the boy to stand down, but no go. Keith Anyan was forced to open fire on the ship, and there was no way even a Mu could’ve survived that blast.

Point in Canon: Post-death.

Character Personality: He was polite, he was courteous. He knew exactly what to say and what to do and was aware of every action he took. He could bow, he could flatter, he could take praise. He considered the person he was speaking with, considered their wants and grievances and ho-hum sighs, turned around and used all of those flaws to twist the person (normally without them knowing it) to do what he wanted.

Shiroe was manipulative in the way a child with crocodile-tears was manipulative, only less to get extra dessert and more to pry into places he Wasn’t Supposed to Be. The depressing part was that he had the brains and strong perception (not just because of his telepathic powers, either) to go with it- smarts that only failed in the way that if he thought you were a useless person, he wouldn’t hesitate to make it known that he thought so. In this way, Shiroe could come off as a bit… bipolar to the people who watched him, switching between emotions as quick as a hare every time new information or an idea occurred to him. He may have been adaptive like that, but there were things that he wouldn’t ever change on, such as if he thought he was losing, he very obviously became riled, retaliated to whatever was making him falter by insults and aggression. He wasn’t afraid of ‘the big bad,’ spoke his mind as simply as he thought, sarcasm always thick when used. He didn’t shy away from making his opinions known, whether or not that was a good thing; on the same hand, if he became interested in something, he had the tendency to act like a hornet around it, drilling and chasing until he figured he understood it.

There was an extreme mistrust of near everyone he would run across, as well; bitter, maybe, scornful over what he half-recalled and his supposed inability to do anything about it. There was definitely no consideration behind his 'help,' and certainly no wish for friends. Once upon a time, back when Neverland was reachable (his wish for ‘Peter Pan’ to take him away was one that hardly left) he might have, but now, it was unthinkable. Everything were goals, to him - ambitions, the cunningness required to get there and the dispensable resources that would have to come for him to reach them.

Of course, mentality alone isn't enough to get rid of the fact that he was fourteen - a fourteen year old who'd been rudely yanked out of his perfect bubble, knew he had been ripped out, and yet had little opportunity to stem up the issues in regards to it. If caught in a vulnerable moment, Shiroe was truly vulnerable: a little kid struggling to grow up without actually becoming an adult, confused and afraid of that confusion.

For, you see, in all of that thinking, he's somewhat of an idealist in how he could accomplish his goals. For one, he's a Mu - a 'mutation' of humans who are generally categorized by their extremes of emotion. Beyond that, he was despairingly afraid of forgetting. That fear hadn’t always been there - it was spurred on first when it was implied that he would forget his beloved parents (which he nearly did) and only grew as his memory was wiped clean, as was required where he grew up, until it was something that was a hairline-trigger for him. Real anger wasn’t a common thing, from him, but it went easily hand-in-hand with fear. That fear ruled him, in all honesty-- he hated losing what he considered his because of it, hated when opportunities were taken from him, hated not being able to see everything in blunt, direct light. Justice in the personal sense of the word was very important, though you'd never catch him going about giving a monologue about it - he wasn't a true villain, after all.

Character Plans: Shiroe will definitely be integrating himself into whatever circle he can. His age will undoubtfully give him troubles, but he'll twist it to his own advantage as much as possible -- while he's not at all a 'bad guy,' he's perfectly willing to use underhanded tricks to get the information that he wants (along with shouldering aside people who might be good but aren't his type to hang with) and in Siren's Port, there's going to be a lot of information he'll want. Especially when he catches wind of the corruption.

Also, unlike before he died, he'll be (somewhat) aware of his Mu powers. As they're the 'monsters' of Terra, he'll be trying to hide that as best he can.
