New Facebook, and why you shouldn't always trust users

There's a big fuzz about Facebook's new design, and I personally don't understand why. The new user interface is more intuitive, easier to use, and all the old good features are still there. Is different? Hell yes! Is new? You betcha! Users like different and new? No if the change was on something they already know and use, even if its performance ( Read more... )

I have actually stopped using the facebook website now since the latest change. Not because I am afraid of change. Because they removed two features that were very important to me. Taking away Live Feed is in my opinion a massive step backwards. Massive. I will not press F5 to refresh all day long so now I don't open the site at all.

Also, walls now have all actions lumped together with no timestamps. This means I have no clue when anything happened as they're not in any kind of order. Therefore, I no longer look my friend's profiles.

Unless they revert those two things that's me gone. I have twitter, I don't need facebook to try and fail at being a twitter clone. Luckily the mobile app still has livefeed, so I can at least check that every now & then and TweetDeck allows me to update my status. It just means I'm not looking at walls or photos or what my friends are up to anymore.

Well, totally agree with you on that: I do miss Live Feed too. I think is one of the main drawbacks on the new design. Is curious that the mobile app still have it... Maybe there is still a chance they re enabled it.

Hello! This may sound strange, but do you remember the user astr0syn? Today I received a message from LJ saying it was her birthday coming up, and I realized it's been 4 years since her last entry. I've sadly noted her absence before in this time, but today was the first time I thought to ask her few other LJ friends if they knew what happened to her. I always thought she was someone amazing and special, and we sent packages and mail to each other on several occasions. I just wish I knew what happened to her. If you know I'd be so grateful for any info. Thanks so much for your time.
