Okay. Fuck "reserving judgement," I LOVE this comic. EMMA FROST OMG SQUEE!!!!!
*ahem* Sorry, it's just... god, there is, right now, no character I love more than her when she's written right, man. And Whedon really has Emma down. Just... lordy.
*does the happy Kitty/Emma dance* Goddess, that scene was PERFECT! I love that Emma hasn't lost her 'edge,' and that Kitty is as freaked out as she is, and that Emma is slightly afraid of herself.
(Although Kitty, I think, is wrong for blaming Scott's insecurity on Emma-the guy just lost his wife, for chrissake. Last time that happened, he quit the X-men all together.)
Whedon is actually getting me *interested* in Kitty--I was absolutely *bored to tears* by her when Claremont was writing her over in Xtreme. *shudder* Thing is, with Ms. Pryde, she's *so easy* to turn into a Mary Sue. Claremont does it. I'm glad Whedon isn't making the same mistake.
My only complaint? Hank. While I love seeing him kicking ass, the ending has me terrified. Please, *please* tell me Whedon isn't going to say that he he wants the cure for himself! Man, they've already turned Ultimate Hank into an insecure, moody, somewhat feckless wimp; they *can't* do the same for 616 Hank! I... I just won't *let* them! *stamps foot*

Oh, man, do I love this book. Lordisa do I love this book.
Shortpack is so endearing to me, for reasons I can't quite say. I just really *like* his character. There's just something so compelling about a foot-tall righteous telepath.
I love the way McKeever used Mystique's powers, too. God, I love seeing her shift like that. The tail! The tail!

How bored am I by the Kon/Cassie romance? I mean, personally, I think having the mentor of the object of my affections throw me off the roof would be a bit of a turnoff, but maybe Kon's into that. *shrug*
It's just... meh. I hope that all of Cassie's screentime doesn't suddenly get put into this sappy romance; personally, I"m a whole lot more interested in her thing with Ares.
Also, we all know that Kon will just leave her for Tim in the end. Poor Cassie!

Again, I'm just buying back issues to tell whether or not I want to get this. And I... I liked these issues, though Kara strikes me as a total Mary Sue. "Hi! I'm Kal's cousin from Krypton! I like shopping and I'm like really powerful and why doesn't Batman trust meeeeee?" But I love the running internal dialogues from Superman and Batman.
I'm still deciding on this book. We shall see.
