Today: Last day of tamayo and boy am I ever glad about that! After looking at his paintings for 100 days, I can fairly say that he's a half-rate painter. Yes, Tamayo's sense of color isn't bad, but why even bother justifying his notoriety and market value by his paltry talent when we know that, whether by accident or design, he was merely a cunning ( Read more... )

Too bad art isn't about art. People will buy art that was painted by elephants or even paint covered worms squiggling helplessly for their lives across a canvas. I am glad that car manufacturers don't try to romance us with a dream car that was put together by monkeys! Only in the art world does this happen. Whatever creates the buzz will do. Time will tell the lasting value. That is what the classics are all about.
