Right on!!! I agree with you, but I find that it never helps to bait the liberal anti-military. They never listen anyway. Good job though, maybe you did finally talk some sense into somebody.

The thing is, that unfortunately, if we do try and talk sense into these 'peace-mongers' they either don't listen, or try to make it personal.

I never understood how good the military was for this country until I joined. I agree with everything that you wrote to that one person. So many people are pig headed and don't take the time to realize what an impact we have on not only our own country but others as well. We are fighting for them so they can continue to do whatever they please. Like the person who commented before me said, people just aren't going to listen. If things don't directly involve them then they just don't care. This kind of attitude is what drives a lot of us to having careers in the military. I am glad that we can actually say that we are doing something for this country.

People not paying attention to the truth is a dirrect result of the influence of domestic media. It is not the enlisted individuals who are looked down upon by the sensible, but rather those above them and the decisions that come from them. The individuals that enlist in the military have good intentions, that is to protect this country and the inhabitants of it. Those individuals expect to find the ability to trust those above them. However, trust and respect can much too often lead to absence of logical questioning. As a result, many things are overlooked.
I know a few people in the military that silently scorn the decisions and intentions of those above them and regret the intention of the past: easy way to college education. I also know many people from a few different nations, and I believe it to be rediculous that I must appologize for the acts of my country.
