As some of you know I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere trying not to kill anyone. And I'm in need of entertainment. So people should tell me what they're writing/drawing/working on. Or how life is treating you. Or rec me stories/music/podcasts. Or interesting links. SOMETHING or I might go crazy.

Rd recommended Orange is the new Black to me yesterday, could be something for you as well, if you aren't watching it already?

I am still in Prague. I am revising the not-Poland novel and doing lots of research that tells me I have to rewrite a lot of things. Also listening to my son study for the USMLE.
Want to beta not-Poland?

How long are you in Prague for? And how's your son going with the USMLE? I was thinking of sitting the USMLE next year maybe.

What is not-Poland about?

Man, that sounds like a nightmare of an exam. Good luck to him.

Oh yeah. The one with a kind of happy ending but not. Sure, I wouldn't mind having something to read. Can't promise I'll be any good as a beta though.

Mmm yes I do love Japanese horror stories. They're so appropriately creepy without gore. What's the story about?

The Japanese horror story was something about an elevator and going to another world by the use of it, through some ritual. (Stories are found here and here as a follow up to the other)

I'm playing with some concepts of the stories a little, having some guy voluntarily put himself in there and what he finds plus some guy outside in the real world whose trying to find him. HAHA. I'm trying to emulate the subtle creepy, and writing it through series of scenes/drabbles.

Oh yeah, that sounds interesting. So the MC finds out about it, and goes exploring and it goes badly for him? Your description reminds me of Coraline a little.

Old timey radio podcast with really great comedians/writing, and really good guest stars, too. They have a bunch of different shows within their show, most of which are great, but I'd skip Tales from the Black Lagoon and War of Two Worlds. The best ones are Beyond Belief (alcoholic, supernatural mystery-solving couple) and Sparks Nevada (western set on mars).

I may have recced you this already since I was obsessed with it a while back >.>
