The new and improved phpBB3 is pretty slick. Both of the radio boards I run on use it. I've never had a chance to dick around with the admin-level features of it, but it's pretty resistant to bots from a user's perspective. I don't know if it has a user-selectable skin option, which is something I would like very much to have (IF Zetaboards and vBulletin do.)

Oh, that's handy to know. I'll probably check it out again, then! ^^

Also, phpBB's featurelist suggests they have selectable skins. They don't seem like they should be that hard to implement, really, so that's not unexpected. Invisionplus actually had them working, and I think they started with the same version of IPB as Invisionfree did...

As for bots... LC was plagued by spambots, possibly because IP's CAPTCHAs weren't exactly very good. Should be interesting to see what sort of features phpBB uses to combat them - there are lots of interesting tricks to use, so I wonder which ones they'll have in place...?
