Terry Pratchett is someone I probably should have been into years ago, so maybe I will take up your recommendation. Glad you liked Tutu, even though I didn't really recommend it to you or anything. :P I am going to finish it up here in the next couple days.

Speaking of forums... I'm really starting to enjoy being on RMF, but it pains me when it's so slow. It seems a lot of people there are more lurker-type than poster-type. But I will forge ahead. I keep looking for topic ideas, but I'm having trouble lately. So I guess if you think of something, don't hesitate to post or, you know, tell me so I can. :P

And speaking of speaking of... advertising...

I don't know if you get comments by e-mail on here, but I posted on a meme you had on your LJ a few posts down. I might end up posting it on my own LJ so I can have a post for the first time in... four months.

Your comments on Tutu were kinda a catalyst to me deciding to watch it. Or a reminder maybe. I had decided to watch it a while back based on Ryuu's posts, but it took a minor push now the time was right to get me to actually start it; from there it was easy, since from the bit about sealing the Raven with forbidden powers in the first minute of ep 1, I was not that likely to stop ( ... )

I dunno whether or not you'd like the style it's written in (the Discworld books tend to blend comedy, seriousness, and awesome, so I guess if your sense of humour doesn't fit with the jokes it might not work so well overall?), but it has a lot of really cool ideas in it. I'd recommend checking it out if you get a chance. ^^
Without giving too much away (I think - been a while since I last read it), the main antagonist is a witch/fairy godmother who uses the power of stories to manipulate stuff; in the setting of the book, that's pretty powerful magic once it's set in motion, so the protagonists (also witches) have to do some interesting stuff to fight against it.

I understand you on the condolence thing. It's hard to say something meaningful when you don't know much about the person. But I can honestly say after having been on the receiving end that it really is the thought that counts. :)
