Tonight, we biked just over 4 miles, including a trip around a local cemetery. After work, we stopped and picked up some helmets, locks, and water bottle baskets.

Good times!

When we came home from work today, our new bicycles were waiting for us on the front step; a pleasant surprise, as I wasn't expecting them until at least Thursday. We got them w/ Amex rewards points, which was cool ( Read more... )

The mysterious circle does, fortunately, appear to be a simple shell-casing burn. I should have realized that immediately, but I was out all day Sunday blazing a trail through a cedar forest full of vine-thick poison ivy, and removed at least one tick during that time, so Lyme Disease is a present concern ( Read more... )

I dreamed last night that one of my teeth suddenly crumbled into an improbably number and size of toothy shards. Then my lips started swelling so much that I couldn't open them to speak or breathe. My apologies for raising interest in the subject and then not resolving it; several people have now asked after me, knowing I had started hiccuping, but not knowing if they stopped. [sigh] Still with the hiccups. They came and went a few times yesterday, and have come back at least a dozen times today. Fortunately, I've found a pretty reliable way to suppress them that won't make me fat or toothless. The "N sips of water" trick, it turns out, works pretty well if you do it right.
