Just keep on truckin'...

Well, I have an interview with Norfolk Florist on Baker Rd. today at 1:15pm. I'm very excited, but I'm worried about what to wear. It's a very casual place, one of those businesses that looks like a hole in the wall, but is actually very well off. A nice shirt and some clean, dark jeans with black flats? Go office professional and wear black slacks ( Read more... )

Good luck with the interview my dear :3 I hope you get it :3

By the way, I tried to get ahold of you-know-who, and she hasn't replied to any of my texts :/ I can try again later on today, but I'll let you know how it goes :o

...and TCC + map of wrong = EPIC FAIL. Go treat yourself to something yummy for all that running around D: I would have been pissed too x_x And I know exactly how it feels to be in the negagives; I've been like that the past semester actually :(

Thanks for the good luck wishes! They definitely worked. :)

She's not answering any of your texts?? D: I'll text her and tell her that I asked you to take my stuff from her. She has arthritis that tends to flare up every now and then, so she might be in too much discomfort to answer texts. She also likes to sleep any chance she gets, so she could be sleeping.

As for treating myself to something yummy, I'm planning to do just that tonight. Yay for chocolate chip ice cream!!

Well, what if on Monday your work schedule was a little different?

Did you already go to the interview? Normally I'd advise against jeans, but it's hard to tell with a job like that. What did everyone else seem to be wearing when you went in for an application and stuff? You can judge the level of professionalism by that.

It turns out the job is only seasonal. They hire a bunch of people and send them to a warehouse to put together custom orders for Valentine's week and weekend. I ended up wearing my heels, a nice blue shirt, and my black slacks. The dress is pretty professional there, so I'm glad I dressed up, but the interviewer told me that if I work this job, I should wear jeans, a sweater, and sneakers. XD At least dressing up shows that I made an effort to impress. *nod nod* I went ahead and took the job, and if I can't find anything else, I'll just keep that one. They say seasonal employees are considered for permanent positions. Maybe I'll get lucky? Until then, the problem is just finding a way to make money until then. XD I might just have to bite the bullet and begin babysitting or something. Maybe I'll find out that I actually love kids? XD

Glad to hear your interview went well then. ^-^ I hope they consider taking you on permanently. That would be cool.

You can try sittercity.com (I think that's the site) to see if anyone in your area wants a babysitter, or put an ad on Craig's List (or check Craig's List for want ads). You could also do what Rin did over the summer and just post an ad for odd jobs- offer to run errands, help fix up stuff or clean, walk dogs, etc. for people for a small fee. :3 Rin actually got people calling her for it.

My mom was actually telling me that a sister of one of her co-workers has a job kind of like what Rin did over the summer. She's an errand runner. Rain, snow, hail, ice, she runs any errand at any time of the day. She delivers stuff, picks stuff up, transports kids, etc. It would be a cool job, but I think it would be too much responsibility for me. ^-^; I should make a posting on Craigslist, though, like Rin did. I'd love to walk peoples' dogs. :D Thanks for the suggestion!
