Change? Really?
Ok, I've pretty much sat on my discontent in regards to politics and our President for a while now because, well, I hate politics the way a vampire hates sun (TRUE VAMPIRES, NOT THOSE FUCKING PUSSYPIRES FROM TWILIGHT), I don't understand half of what comes spewing out of a politicians mouth, I just know it usually stinks of bullshit, and it's one area where I am woefully uneducated due to my own choice and lack of interested.
However, when our new President was elected based purely on the fact that his administration would be based on change, yes, I sat up and took notice. And for the random record, no, I didn't vote for him. I was actually going to boycott the elections entirely because I didn't like ANY of the candidates, but when you're hijacked by family, well, there you go.
So, here's my question, peeps. WHERE'S THE FUCKING CHANGE? So far all I've seen is the lifting of the Grey Wolf from the protected list so that now it's open season on them and they're being killed left and right. Again. This so called Health Care Reform gets passed, and States, attorneys, medical professionals, etc are lining up left and right to sue the government to prevent it from taking effect (just google it, I'm too lazy and tired to look up links), does that not say anything to anyone out there? Well, aside from the fact that they're all greedy bastards, though I think the States have a point. This new bill will put my current home state of Virginia $6.6 BILLION dollars further in debt. HELLO?! Mr. President, your country is BANKRUPT and in debt OUT THE SHITHOLE with people losing their jobs every fucking day and you're worried about HEALTH CARE? Worry about the fact that THERE'S NO MONEY flowing first! Yes, I agree the old system is borked up and needs to be looked at, but I already touched on that somewhere (in someone else's journal?) and I won't go into that here.
Not only that, but what the FUCK is this about opening up off shore drilling on the East Coast? Excuse me? You're going to fucking RUIN the environment, I can't BEGIN to tell you how thrilled I'm going to be seeing oil covering my beloved Outer Banks. Instead of drilling for oil and following in the footsteps of all the large oil mongers that are running around, put your attention on developing alternative fuel and harnessing electrical energy, again, for cars.
So, back to my question. Where the FUCK is the change? Last I heard, friends of mine were jobless and looking, in danger of losing their job (my mom is facing that at the end of this year), or fortunate enough to have a job despite the fact that it's turned into a major soul crusher and can't find one because NOTHING IS AVAILABLE? Add onto the fact that Charlotte, NC is going to be closing 12 libraries, which is going to make the librarian field that much more competitive and cutthroat, and when a GOVERNMENT run public service winds up being cut because, guess what, THERE'S NO MONEY, that tells me that things in our country has gone beyond fucked up to "Oh Shit, I hope the world really does end in 2012"ville.
