Huh

Anyone else notice that the ad blocker ability on ff.net keeps dropping for the length of time it's enabled? It went from an initial five days to three days and now it's down to one day. Pretty soon I fear that ff.net will get rid of it entirely, and that will REALLY upset a lot of people. I don't mind sidebar ads or ads that don't take up a lot ( Read more... )

I'm sorry! I was really rooting for you for that job. I'm going to keep crossing my fingers, though, and hope good things come!

Thanks. I'm still hoping somewhere deep down that they're going to call when I least expect it, but I think I'll just be happier and able to concentrate on other things if I go ahead and say that they're not interested.

*hugs*

Ads are annoying. I wish they would leave the blocker ability alone. And you know, when I sign out on here I get an ad too T__T

I'm sorry to hear you haven't heard anything yet *hugs*. They could call you later down the road if they're still going through applications or have other positions, but in the meantime are there other jobs you applied for or interested in?

They're extremely annoying! I've been caught by the ones on lj, too, but thankfully not as often as I have on ff.net.

*hugsback* That's what I keep hoping, but it's just odd that after sending in my resume twice and sending in two letters of inquiry asking about the status of the job I haven't heard anything.

As far as other jobs, the only ones available in the area I want to move to are nursing and accounting, both of which I'm completely unsuited to do. There are other library jobs open across the state, but a lot of them are in the Raleigh/Durham area, and that general area just makes me feel really dirty. The traffic is also horrendous. *sigh* I'm hoping something might open up around the Asheville area, I don't actually have to BE in Asheville proper, but I do want to be close.

I haven't been to FF.net in *ages*, but the full-page pop-up ads were VERY irritating the last time I took a peek over there. It's definitely a major deterrent to the site, and I hope they keep the option to remove them for the sake of their visitors. I'm with you; side bar ads and headers/banners are tolerable, but full-page pop-ups are aggravating.

And... ::hugs::

I would think that they would keep that option, because I'm sure they were bombarded with very angry visitors and users over it. I just find it odd that the length of time the ad blocker is enabled keeps shrinking. Pretty soon they're going to drop it from one day to probably one hour. I'm sure all hell will break loose then.

*hugs back*
