ZeldaQueen: Before we start off, I'd like to apologize for the lack of activity as of late. I'm juggling school and work and I'm a bit busy. Fear not though, I'll update when able, plus I've got a third sporking being readied!

Chapter 20: The Kraken
Kate’s Point of View
To say that I felt nothing when Jones had kissed me the previous night would have been a lie. How something so alien could have felt so familiar, it was indescribable.
ZeldaQueen: Didn't we go through this already? Her confused feelings, his alien kiss, and so on?
I didn’t love him. I loved Jack; otherwise I wouldn’t have even attempted to save Jack’s soul.
ZeldaQueen: Just keep telling yourself that darling. Let me assure you though, we aren't going to believe it just because you believe it a lot
I stood on the deck of a merchant vessel that had plucked us from the sea soon after Will and I had escaped the Dutchman, watching as the calm waters gently sparkled in the afternoon sun.
ZeldaQueen: You know, this would have been a great chance to show off Kate's pirate abilities at navigating the ocean and proving she really is tough. Gethesemane just skips it. Figures
I could feel the eyes of the sailors on me as they went about their tasks, though I didn’t acknowledge them.
ZeldaQueen: (Sue) "Feh, peons!"
And what, she's just standing there? Why isn't she already talking to the captain? Or does the captain fish people out of the ocean and then leave 'em around to dry?
I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned to find Will standing behind me.
“The captain said they went to Tortuga,” he told me.
ZeldaQueen: (Sue) "Thank you Jeeves, that will be all"
I glanced at him, and then hurried off to find the captain of the vessel. He stood at the helm, and looked at me quizzically.
ZeldaQueen: (Captain) "Oh lord, don't tell me we fished out another Mary Sue"
“You said you went to Tortuga?” I asked him.
“Aye.”
ZeldaQueen: (Captain) "Are ye deaf, you stupid bint?"
“Did you happen to see a ship with black sails docked there?”
He thought a moment, and then nodded. “Yes.”
ZeldaQueen: Because I'm sure there aren't FIVE MILLION OR SO ships with black sails in Tortuga. It's only a TOWN OVERRUN BY PIRATES!
Excitement bubbled inside me.
ZeldaQueen: Huh, is she a coffee pot? Is she going to percolate next?
“Turn this ship around. That must mean that my husband’s there.”
ZeldaQueen: My my, we are pushy about how someone should handle their own ship, aren't we?
“Your husband?” asked the captain.
I smiled. “Yes. My husband is Captain Jack Sparrow.”
ZeldaQueen: (Sue) "My husband, my man, my hubby, my personal property, the guy I fuck whenever possible, mine, mine, only for myself".
GOD is she possessive! And am I the only one who gets the show dog feeling here? Like "Oh yeah, I'm married to the great Jack Sparrow. YOU WISH you had a husband as great as this!"
This prompted the entire crew to silence, and they stared at me with widened eyes.
ZeldaQueen: Yes, because that's enough to stun an entire crew into silence!
The captain regained his composure, and he cleared his throat. “Mrs. Sparrow, I’m afraid we can’t turn this ship around. I’m an honest sailor. It was enough that we had to dock in a pirate port, but to be seen doing so in broad daylight?”
ZeldaQueen: You know, she just admitted to being the wife of a guy who is probably pretty well known as a pirate, what with him being a Pirate Lord and on tense terms with the East India Trading Company and all. Even if they didn't know who he was, they probably would know that he isn't a nice guy, given that he's at Tortuga. All that aside, I doubt that they'd treat Mrs. Sparrow here all meek and respectful like. I'd imagine that they'd either try to restrain her and fork her over to the nearest British officers for suspicion of piracy or ties to a well-known pirate, boot her off the ship because she's a danger, or at the very least, show some level of fear
“Please!” I begged. “This is a matter of life and death! If I don’t find my husband, he could die.”
ZeldaQueen: Lady, you're a PIRATE. You're supposed to have picked up tricks from Jack! THREATEN THEM! COMMANDEER THE SHIP! DO SOMETHING BESIDES WHINE AND CRY TO GET YOUR WAY! YOU HAVEN'T SHOWN ANY COMPUNCTIONS ABOUT BEING IMMORAL BEFORE NOW!
As he was about to reply, Will, who had come to stand next to me, froze.
ZeldaQueen: Little did she know, he had only just then realized that she was a Mary Sue. He slowly drew his sword and, in one swift movement, beheaded her. He then ran off to find Elizabeth and there was much rejoicing
I glanced at him quizzically, and saw that he was looking at the larboard horizon.
ZeldaQueen: Oh yes Gethesemane, you just know so much nautical information *yawns*
Turning my head, I gasped.
The ominous sails, the terrifying figurehead….
ZeldaQueen: They could hear the Bellman ringing his bell for the half an hour and shouting that this was just the sort of place to find a Snark
“It’s the Dutchman!” I cried.
ZeldaQueen: You know, in canon, Will had the sense to warn the crew to sail as far from that location as possible. You were busy sobbing over your Dearly Beloved. And are you really surprised that it found you again?
The captain stared at me, fear evident, but turned to his crew. “Make ready the guns!”
ZeldaQueen: (Captain) "We must all commit suicide to escape from the Sue!"
The crewmembers scurried, but were knocked to their feet when a jolt rippled through the ship. I had nearly been thrown overboard due to the force,
ZeldaQueen: YAY!
and hung onto the banister.
ZeldaQueen: Oh beans...
Will had grabbed onto a nearby rope.
ZeldaQueen: And used it to hang the Sue
“What the bloody hell…?” I muttered. “We can’t have run into a reef. We’re too far out.”
ZeldaQueen: (Kate) "I know these things because I stole the lines from other characters"
A shadow whispered through the water,
ZeldaQueen: What?
and a dead silence ensued.
ZeldaQueen: Is that like hilarity ensuing?
I looked at Will for an explanation, but he could offer none.
ZeldaQueen: Because no one tells him shit in this story! Seriously, I think Kate is more often in the loop than he is!
All at once, large, slimy tentacles began to slither up the ship’s hull. Chaos erupted as the crew grabbed guns and muskets, firing erratically at the attacking beast.
ZeldaQueen: Kate, meanwhile, was passionately turned on and dropped her pants
To escape the slithering tentacles, Will and I dashed up the rigging and into the crow’s nest.
ZeldaQueen: I have this image of them running up a pole, Loony Tunes-style
One of the tentacles wrapped around my leg, and I screamed,
ZeldaQueen: (Sue) "More baby, more!"
frantically grabbing at the ropes in order to escape.
ZeldaQueen: Our Heroine, Ladies and Gentlemen
Will, who was a short distance away, tried to pull me away, though the attempt was in vain. I grabbed his sword, and thrust it into the tentacle, which drew back as blood erupted from the stab wound.
ZeldaQueen: Ah, I see. When given the choice between being a Damsel in Distress and making Will look bad, she goes for the latter. Good to know
I scurried back up the rigging and came to stand in the crow’s nest. I watched, stunned, as a single tentacle rose, and came crashing down onto the ship.
ZeldaQueen: YOU KNOW ABOUT THE KRAKEN! WHY IS THIS A SURPRISE TO YOU? WILL WAS NEVER TOLD, BUT YOU WERE!
As the mast on which I was situated began to break, I dove from the nest and into the swirling waters below. I could see, through the flurry of white foam, a large, hideous sea beast in the depths nearby.
ZeldaQueen: Actually, it was her own reflection
All at once, a large piece of debris came crashing down into the water. At that instant, everything faded to black.
ZeldaQueen: I'm getting Twilight flashbacks here
When I awoke, I found myself on the deck of a familiar ship, with a nightmarish crew standing above me.
Damn!
ZeldaQueen: You can say that again.
And why, exactly, are they keeping her around? Not only did she steal the key and run away, but she emotionally manipulated Jones to get it, using a very painful memory. He ought to be feeding her to the Kraken himself.
Oh wait, she's a Sue and the reincarnation of his lover and leverage to boot, so of course that means she can be kidnapped to the Suethor's content with no fear of actual consequences. Carry on
I slowly pulled myself to my feet, and came face to face with the captain himself. He looked nothing short of furious, for his dark eyes were blazing with unrestrained anger.
ZeldaQueen: Is he going to kill her? *is hopeful*
“What in the hell is wrong with you?” he hissed. “You could have been killed!”
ZeldaQueen: No such luck
“Why would you care?” I spat.
ZeldaQueen: That's a very good question. In the movie, he was so angry at Will that he was going to kill the guy and make his dad watch
He opened his mouth to reply, but a crew member came to his side.
“There’s no sign of Turner,” he said. “He must have been claimed by the sea.”
Jones scoffed. “I am the sea.”
ZeldaQueen: And...that's it. He doesn't care that he was promised Will's soul as well and almost lost that, no it's the Sue he pitches a tantrum over
He then turned to the small throng of survivors that had gathered near the helm. He turned to the nightmarish creatures towering behind them.
ZeldaQueen: You know, Gethesemane's limited vocabulary reminds me of Link's Queen and how she went on about Link's crystal blue eyes all of the time. It makes me very unhappy
“There are no survivors.”
ZeldaQueen: Then were do the stories come from, I wonder?
The creatures drew their weapons, and proceeded to slice the throats of the poor men. I didn’t even flinch.
ZeldaQueen: Oh, of course you don't, you little sociopath. It's not you or Jack being killed, after all
But when Jones turned to me and grabbed my wrist, I felt as weak as a newborn.
ZeldaQueen: Because the instant A Man grabs you, you go limp as a rag doll and let him nearly violate you, relying on Another Man to save you
“You. In my cabin. Now.”
ZeldaQueen: *stares* Davy Jones is a high school principle. I'm speechless. What next, is he going to make the Sue stay late to copy lines?
That was a command, not a request.
ZeldaQueen: Um yeah, the lack of question mark kind of clued me in on that
Seeing myself in no position to disobey, I silently followed him to the captain’s stateroom.
ZeldaQueen: I take comfort in the knowledge that the sex isn't until the sequel
