Have any of you seen the movie version of John Carter?

In case anyone is interested in the book upon which the movie is based, A Princess of Mars, you can currently read it online at the Library of Congress' website, read.gov.

I'm kind of curious how the movie is because there are definitely changes that had to made from the original text from 1917. For instance, in the book, everybody on Mars is basically naked all the time. PG-13 ratings do not allow such things.

It's a pretty decent adventure story I suppose, although there are two major things that bothered me.

1.) Edgar Rice Burroughs is clearly both a racist and misogynist in approximately equal measures. (Either that, or he was super good at faking it for his core audience of dudes from the early 20th century.)

2.) John Carter is a Gary Stu. Seriously.
