[One Link's found the poor owl, and he kind of wish he didn't. It's a gory sight; not the worst Link's seen thanks to his travels and tournament days, but that doesn't change how horrible and cruel it is. For a while, the boy stands in front of Kaepora's remains, shoulders slack and expression blank.]

...'m sorry. [If he had reached Kakariko earlier in the day, he could have saved the creature. Some hero he was.]

[Without another word, Link removes his cloak and gingerly drapes it over the dismembered head, then drags his feet over to the body. He's gonna look for the killer and face them - what if they tried to hurt someone else? - but first, Kaepora deserves a proper burial.]
