[Nightmare] ♪ I'll Face Myself

[The water is rising. It covers the floor of the entire room, pooling around the young man's ankles. The chill of the water bites in, seeping past denim and skin to reach his very bones. It was never this bad before - the fog never this dense, the water never this cold ( Read more... )

[Someone out there has a cruel sense of humor, and when she finds them hell will be the least of their worries. The room grows clear as she materializes, the biting tang of hope smothered at the definite feeling of wrong in the air.]

[Glaring at the water, she buries the more complex feelings under a thick layer of anger and flutters down to the other occupant's side. She should question him being here, but for whatever reason her mind does not care at the moment.]

Step left, idiot.

(ooc:I meant to reply sooner, but I'm afraid flu season grabbed the best of me. Sorry for being late!)

[Hope? Who said anything about hope? There's never been any here, only guilt, but the fairy's presence is noticeable all the same. Still wincing, Sheik turns his head slowly to look at Navi - Navi? What he thinks is a change in her color seems to pain him just as much as the arrow lodged in his shoulder.]

Not you, too...

[The fog dissipating, a third figure can now be seen in the distance. It is a Link, but at the same time, it is not. It is a replica from the past. It is a memory Sheik wishes would stay buried and forgotten.

Without a moment's hesitation, he releases the second arrow, adjusting his aim in an attempt to strike the fairy.]

(ooc: Thanks for tagging my post! No worries about being late. Are you feeling better and/or flu-free?)

[Not her what? She levels a glower his way, crossing her arms. Then again, he probably isn't going to make much sense with an arrow sticking out of him anyway. And his eyes... they aren't quite the same red, but they feel warm. Better than blue anyway.]

[But then the fog shifts, and her aura flares to full darkness as she snarls.]

You!

[Yes, he too looks off, no she doesn't care at the moment. With a midair pivot she lets the arrow whiz by, fluttering to catch her balance in the draft.]

You bastard, the fuck are you doing back here?

(ooc: Always my pleasure! I am, thanks! Just a bit tired, I should be fine soon. ^^)

[He thinks Navi's turned to the dark side as well. It's what makes sense to him in this nightmare, at least. Sheik thinks he's alone here, left to fend for himself. He can't rely on anyone here.

The water continues to rise, ice cold and now biting at Sheik's calves. He watches the arrow fly, watches the fairy in favor over the construct trying to kill him. Is she trying to talk to the fake? That won't work.]

Having a little fun is all. [Never-Link smiles calmly as he notches a third arrow. It's aimed right for the Sheikah's forehead.]

Na, Khalil?
