[Link swallows hard when he sees his first opponent. It's the Princess. J-just because she was nice to him outside of battle doesn't mean that he can go easy on her, and he knows the reverse is true. That's how it's always been, right?

Just get through this.

[Link just narrows his eyes at Midna for a moment - confused by what she said? Or is he just trying to better his aim?

What did it look like he was doing? Fighting in the Tournament, just like he used to before he fell into Hyrule. Midna should be doing the same, if she knows what's good for her.
