[The rain that pelted the Castle Courtyard in shelves was cool, fresh grass glowing beneath the hooves of his borrowed horse as they entered the grounds. When they passed the gate, Link reached up to pull a sheet of wet hair from his eyes in order to better survey his surroundings. Even in this Hyrule, the gates and various stone partitions surrounding the castle all bore the same famous seal of the Royal Family. When they reached the front gates, Link dismounted.
He'd wanted to look upon Hyrule Castle and see its alleged barrenness for himself. The empty halls and dusty shelves of books did not disappoint the rumors. From its state of disrepair, it was obvious that there hadn't been people in Hyrule Castle for months now. It struck him as sad that there were no longer any left to celebrate the might of such a formidable structure.
As Link reached his final destination - the throne room - he pulled off his hat and shook his head. His wet bangs slapped back against his head, only to slide messily back into his face soon afterward. Rubbing the last splatters of rain from his eyes, he looked over the empty room in a respectful silence. The Throne of Hyrule stood empty at the end of the hall. Despite the hall's desolation, it didn't feel right to move any closer.
Even from his position at the end of the hall he could discern the fine layer of dust that sat upon the throne.
Hyrule... would it ever again be the Kingdom that it once was..?]
