[Building an army is a time-consuming process, to say the least. It has taken weeks of effort to arrange things to his satisfaction.]
[The easiest part is controlling those monstrous creatures that have little-to-no intellect. Ganondorf can simply impose his will on them, using magical compulsion if necessary to make them do as he wishes. Sometimes even that is not necessary; mindless creatures will attack whoever comes near -- if placed thoughtfully, they will slow any intruder to a crawl. He has yet to determine whether Volvagia or Bongo Bongo can speak a language, but if not, he is confident he can use them as he has used King Dodongo in the past -- place them in certain locations and let them wreak havoc.]
[Harder to integrate into a fighting force are those servants made entirely or partially from magic. The Iron Knuckles he has made from spare pieces from the castle armory, the Armos Knights and Darknuts needing to be animated, Beamos needing the same, his Phantom self to be re-imagined, a variety of magical traps and pitfalls to think up... These magical drains on Ganondorf's abilities have been tiring, but worthwhile.]
[Hardest by far to include in an organized army are those creatures that can think for themselves. The Lizalfos always seem to start fights when not managed closely. His Moblins are too stupid to stay out of trouble. The Poe Sisters from the Forest Temple seem to have taken his offer of employment seriously, but play too many pranks on the Stalfos. Ganondorf's patience is tried by the creatures' petty power struggles. They always seem to involve him in them, when he has made it quite clear he does not care who in fact leads the Moblins, just that that leader answers to him. So many different species of monsters living in the same place -- it is never quiet, and never peaceful.]
[Welcome to Castle Hyrule. Over the past few weeks, it has slowly filled to the brim with monsters, since Ganondorf seems to draw them like flies to honey. No one else is welcome to live here. Bring any complaints to the throne room, where the King of Evil, on Hyrule's dusty throne, is holding audiences for new recruits. Anyone approaching will not be attacked, as recruitment is open, but note that attacking him without a foolproof plan might not be wise.]
[ooc note: I have an idea for this post, for those interested. If a character goes into the throne room bent on a fight, they won't be able to fight Ganondorf personally. Instead, Ganondorf will magically dismiss them to a random boss fight from the Zelda games, which I will play out with another journal. You will not know what boss fight you are getting into until you're there (don't worry -- the boss chosen won't be beyond the character's skill level). I think it is more characteristic of Ganondorf to have bosses fight for him, especially if he has them lying around. I hope this sounds as fun as I think it does...! Let's play Zelda for real, guys? 8D]
