[She isn't really intending to post it publicly, but she still doesn't understand the networking options of the SFC entirely. There are pages of text on Vatheon, its people, the foreigners (she tries to find some sort of patten in those being pulled, but it seems to be random), and the meager information available on Lamufao. If nothing else, the ( Read more... )

If there were a way, I would have found it. [Especially with his butler that had been here only months ago.]

[Ciel here honestly believes he wants to return home more than anyone.]

You do not find it odd that there is no group effort to escape? It has me wondering if there is some sort of spell to keep us complacent.

Ha. You haven't seen the documents found on the island, have you?

Not as of yet, no.

There's little else to do than make a new life.

That does seem to be the general consensus...

Well, given that we get asked so little in return for what we get... It's not that bad here. Mostly.

[ There's a bit of a thoughtful pause before he speaks. Ah, how he's heard this before. Not his situation but Zelda was nice to him...

However, he's still looking pretty nasty. ]

There are those who actually prefer this life to the one they lived before coming here. I for one, well... I do prefer this to home. There's nothing left for me there and all I need has arrived.

[She sounds cautious. The doctor was nothing but polite, but she hasn't forgotten that dark aura.]

It is good to hear that not everyone is simply putting up with this city. I'm happy for you, doctor.

But I suppose such isn't the case for you. And I am sorry. Were I in a better state, perhaps there is something I could do to help with the situation.

As far as there are those who wish to stay, there are an equal number who have unfinished business at home.

Am I correct to assume you are one of that number?

[Well, there's no point in hiding it. John seems to know far more than she's comfortable with, so she might as well just be honest.]

Yes. I am the sole ruler of my people. I must return home.

Sometimes the best thing to do is wait. I believe many would try to make it back to their worlds in a heartbeat if there was an obvious way to go about it... but right now, I believe patience is the best course of action, even if it does seem rather defeatist in nature.

Make use of the circumstances we are in here and now - we'll have our chance to go home soon enough.

That may be, but... there must be a way. Others have come and gone before. If there was a large effort to find a way out, then perhaps this phenomenon could be studied. As it is, those that have gone seem to have no memory of how they left.

I can't afford to simply idle here.

Your determination is admirable, Zelda, I'll give you that.

I'll be honest - I'd be willing to study into it if I knew where to start. But I'm a servant, not a scientist or religious fanatic, and people seem to know so little about Lamufao and the workings of this city as it is.

My only concern is this: if someone - or something - is able to wipe the memories of those that come and go, couldn't they just as easily wipe out our own memories of any information we might discover if they so wish? I'm sure I'm not the only person who's thought of this... and it might explain why people are hesitant to start any mass effort in resistance.

While knowledge about this place would be great, I would just be very cautious in how to go about it.

I am not sure being cautious is necessary. If my guess is correct, we're being observed at all times anyway.

[Not that he can see it, but she's looking at the fairy over her shoulder.]

There are people back home that I miss terribly, and wish I could see again. My brother is back home. If he realizes I'm missing, he's probably frantic. I worry about him.

My boyfriend wants to find a way home. I know he does. And whatever he does to try it, I will be by his side all the way, because I want to see home again as well.

My short time in this place has shown me that it's not really that bad of a place, though. For the time being, we don't know of a way home. If we must make a new home here, if only temporarily ... then I guess I can accept that.

I can't speak for many others, but this is my take on the whole thing.

Biding your time is not a terrible option, especially not if you have a loved one near you.

We're all in the same boat, here. I realize you're not asking for help, but if you need anything, anything at all, feel free to let me know. I'll do what I can to help make things a little easier.
