Have you given Iron and Wine a listen? They're nice.

I also recommend Caribou (Formerly Manitoba), cLOUDDEAD, Mira Calix, Olu Dara, Lady Sovereign, Comets on Fire, Fela Kuti, Ulali and Fila Brazilia in addition to the stuff I've been mentioning in my journal lately.

I have the new Tori Amos. I like it. Compared to Scarlet's Walk and Strange Little Girls, this record is definetly better. Although the fierce-ness of Boys For Pele is still there, it's less In-Your-Face and far more in a subtle way. The record is too long, though, as it clocks in at an amazing 89 minutes with 19 songs. Regardless, there is some crap on it, but most of it is really good
