hope dies last

Wow, I had no expectations heading into the “House” series finale and I dug it!

House and Wilson’s relationship was always my very favorite part of the show (claro que si!) and to see them stay together to the end was AWESOME.

And Foreman was always my favorite individual character and to see him say no to House one last time, not because he didn’t care but because he had to do what he felt was right was so satisfying. Especially since I think if Foreman and Wilson hadn’t both said no, House never would’ve been able to say yes, I want to live. It’s like they inspired him, by valuing themselves as separate (from him) individuals, and by believing that he could survive being truly autonomous, like Wilson said, depending only on himself. (though I don’t doubt that, if House had actually died, they both would’ve gone over and over their decisions in guilty retrospection. And so of course he had to leave his badge for Foreman to find! Because Foreman needed and deserved to know that, yeah, it was ok, better than ok, it was good, and he was a part of that happy ending/new beginning.)

It was funny, though, I just watched “The Reichenbach Fall” for the first time on PBS last night so the mirroring effect of that one element felt particularly strong!

And, as a Bulls fan, I gotta make note of the following quote!
"Omar Epps...agreed that it’s the right time for House to call it quits. "It’s like Jordan hitting the last shot on Bryon Russell""
