I went to Houston over the weekend.

This time, I had no screaming baby on the plane (just one in the airport). Instead, I got to make a detour to Austin instead, while a storm sat over Hobby airport. Last night I saw Michael Moore's latest film "Sicko." Like his previous films, it made me wonder if there was something fundamentally wrong with this country. Tonight continues the scheduled 30 hour session of debate over the Iraq War, and what measures will be enacted to end it. Everyone knew the Republicans were going to filibuster anything that might actually change policy, but it was nice to see them get called on their bluff.

I wonder if there's an Iraq debate bingo card I could use...

For the first time in almost two weeks, I have the time and energy to post about my sister's wedding. Grad school is not nearly what I was expecting, but more on that later.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I have returned from my sister's wedding. A lenghty post will follow on that, but for the rest of the week I will be consumed by work.

When working with a 12 Tesla magnet yesterday, I made sure to take my wallet out first to protect my credit cards.

Apparently I should have taken out my cellphone as well. Thus I will be incommunicado until I get it fixed or replaced.
