Sea salt is typically used in a lot of religions (including pagan where I'm getting the root of my belief system from) as a purification, including those of restless or angry spirits :3
That reminded me of the movie Hocus Pocus, where salt was used to keep away the witches. XD So, like, how does salt purify the spirits? I know it has a cleansing effect on us, as well as do negative things if used in excess, but how does that work with spirits?
Specifically I'm not sure on the "Completely detailed history of purification using sea salt" I figure it just has holy effects, its considered to be a holier substance as it was far more rare back in the day (Also with that whole, toss a pinch of salt over your left shoulder to ward off the devil if you spill some) so its seen as having purifying elements. :3 I figure it is a natural purifying element~
