thanks for going through the trouble to upload this all! They're wonderful, and the one with the top of the gold shrine and the two following are absolutely beautiful. I hope I get to go some day!!

The gold shrine was quite a popular tourist attraction... The place was crawling with Chinese people! It was pretty hard to snap a photo of it without accidentally including some Chinese tourist's arm in it. :P

You should definitely go some day.

I try to avoid looking at this post too much as I know I will not be going back for a while... There is so much I wanted to see but didn't have the time to.

Same here. I was there for 11 days and even though we covered a lot of ground and saw a lot of things (went from Tokyo down all the way to Hiroshima and Miyajima), there was sooooo much that we didn't get to see. I could have been there for 11 months, though, and probably would be saying the same thing. ;~)
