I brought the dog to the vet today for the first time ever. He really did a good job at not barking or complaining.  He is surprisingly really well behaved considering his young age and the fact that we got him hardly a month ago ( Read more... )

I think you just have to get a breed that suits you and be willing to lead it. People sometimes get dogs and expect it to just behave and it won't it needs guidance.

That said Baxter was a nightmare (remember him?). He literally got all up in my face bared his teeth and tried to bite me. He needed me to be firmer, which I was and it worked to some exctent...then we found out he had a medical issue - once treated he has, I'm told, been better. I still loved him though.

An old pupil of mine told me that her dog ate her homework one - and brought me the remains to show me. Goodness me, it made me laugh.

Her homework - well, what was left of it was full of bite marks.

We had a dog when I was little but he didn't do anything that bad. Once he got really old he started getting cranky though and if you didn't give him what he wanted, he would go off and pee somewhere. haha

He was a good dog though. He was a mut my mom found abandoned in a laundry basket in a public laundry place she used when they lived in an apartment.
