Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales

Yesterday, a bunch of decisions were made by the Supreme Court: something about file-sharing, the constitutionality of public displays of the ten commandments on government property, protection of the press, and one about domestic violence. yes, but on the other hand, violations of restraining orders should still be taken with a grain of salt when the man power can be better spent in a dangewrous situation, while the restraining order is non-critical (like, not when a kidnaping has occured, which by the way is a very serious offence (can get death thanks to the Linberg Laws) and should have been responded too b the cops)

Yes, I understand that sometimes restraining orders are taken out for frivolous reasons. But like you said, in this case, she should have been protected. And also, I don't think that the police should ever assume that a woman is bullshitting them when she asks them to enforce the order. That's how children get killed, as evidenced by this case. Just makes me mad.

Kate Silverstein, you are my hero!

I totally and completely agree about this whole case. Did the courts really throw the suit out? If they did, it's just an example of how this country has issues with how it messes up in sooooo many places that it's alarming. At the very least, it was a restraining order violation, but after that it was kidnapping. Well, I can't literally say that because I don't know the actual and exact parameters of the laws governing such acts, but I would assume that it would be a court/trial-worthy case, especially if the father did not legally have rights to physical custody of his children. It's just so sad, because I feel like this situation comes up in the news a lot, and it's such an awful thing for the other parent, let alone the child(ren) invloved.
