Dear Nick, Sorry for your loss wolf2feathers October 19 2004, 11:02:37 UTC
As a Spiritual Counselor, I can tell you that often times people deal with the loss of a loved one with denial. I'm sure you know this, but being a neutral party here in your circumstance, I feel that you need to remain aware that your mom is making her message clear. I'm not saying that she hasn't grieved. But her denial of the matter of your brother's death isn't allowing you the freedom to express your pain. This is very selfish on her part. Any advice you could get from her about this would be biased at best. My advice: Express your sadness whether or not she sees it as healthy. But remember to be ASSERTIVE in doing so, for she may try to wound your pride in the process and a wounded pride is no gift. You made it clear in your post that you Love your mother dearly. It is quite a burden that your family bears, and sometimes we must put ourself first. Express your affliction to let yourself and your family know how you need to deal with the loss of someone close. GOD bless you, my friend.
