4a. "Umbrella" - Dntel Why? It just has that feeling of hope and desperation that always gets me. Its just kinda reminiscent of how you cant rely on those around you, but for the same reason, they can never hold you back.
4b. "Aqueous Transmission" - Incubus. Why? Well, in addition to the fact that Incubus is my favorite band ever, the song's just always been able to calm me down. A lot of my music is "mellow" but this is one of the few that actually makes me stop and think.
4c. "Tequila" - the CHAMPS. Why? Who doesnt love that song? How can you NOT love that song?? I mean, just think of the happy dancing Mexicans and your spirits are instantly lifted!!
4d. "Whatsername" - Green Day. Why? It describes the relationship I had with Haruko to a fucking T. Its disgusting. And I couldnt live without it.
4e. "Frontier Psychiatrist" - the Avalanches. Why? Me and this song go way back. Its disgusting to think about, but this tune helped me work so much out in my life. It gave me a framework to build on when I was lying on Andrew Millers floor, probably drooling a little, trying desperately to rebuild my psyche. Frontier Psychiatrist reminds me of all the good I have in my life, but also forces me to remember my sick sad origins.
