my philosophy

A few strange things happened to those around me today. First, one of my classmates ended up with a baby dying in her hands druing her rotation at PICU. The doctor said he did everything he could and parents couldn't deal and so they left the room and asked that someone hold the baby while it died. No nurse wanted to volunteer. The Dr removed a ( Read more... )

You scored as Existentialism. Your life is guided by the concept of Existentialism: You choose the meaning and purpose of your life.

“Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.”

“It is up to you to give [life] a meaning.”

--Jean-Paul Sartre

I'd like to see Maja's. Another one of my serb friends scored similar to mine, I wonder how much does this have to do with our early childhood education.

Although it was a tie between hedonism and existentialism in my case...and didn't really score much only 70%...

That's fantabulous! If I hadn't spent too much for my own copy on eBay last year, I might persuade you to make me a copy by flashing my tits. And if I had known that you didn't have your own copy, I would have hunted down an extra VCR to make you one of mine!

philosophy is fun, but ultimately life supercedes all theories on paper with irrational, beautiful chaos. But the meaning's in the chaos, right?
I scored 85% on both existentialism and hedonism, but it ranked me for the former because I said I'd rather find meaning than happiness. Who wants empty happiness? I believe that the fact of being on a quest will make me happy anyway.

Doing a little reading in your blog explained your accent as being Serbian, which I thought about asking about, but was too shy. :( (Don't you know most people enter acting to cure their shyness?) Does any of your family live in America too? NYC maybe? Let's hang out again sometime.

i have given up looking for a meaning, i think. i spent some years trying to make sense of my life and the world, but had to concede - as both are beyound me and i am not such an egoist to think i could have it 'all figured out' in one lifetime ( ... )

By meaning I mean contributing something worth something. Just read a great book, What Should I Do With My Life, about people who searched for meaning (not religious or self-helpy, or even new-agey, actually really straight forward). You might like it.

There was standing room only when Theatre Club did Vagina Monologues at the Nightingale a few years ago. The most moving part of that for me was the Serbian woman who raped during the war.

I take my time warming up to people. Once I get to know them I'm not so shy, you know? I wonder if you would like some mail-art. It's a hobby I stole from Ray Johnson.
