Egads, dating

Oy, it has been too long. Apparently, I am one of those who ignores friends -- at least online friends -- when I have a boyfriend. Makes me feel very 15. And very much that I don't want to be in that girly kind of zone.
In fact, calling a man I am dating at the age of 44 my boyfriend is very strange to me in and of itself. In fact, dating someone ( Read more... )

:-)

Welcome back! Glad to hear you're happy! I think dating reduces us all to teenagers, regardless of your actual age. (Unless you you're just going through the motions, which it very much sounds like you aren't.)

Hey there sweets!
Oh, I always fret about something.
Is nice to be around with a grain of time to myself, actually, this weekend. Every weekend sans kids for the past month and a half, I've gone away. Which is nice too, but I miss my private quiet time.

I'm ammending your statement a bit:

Here are the things I don't like about dating in my 40s after being married for 20 years

:)

I HAD wondered where you'd gone, but RL has to win out over LJ--especially when it involves a relationship. Even one you are being (protectively?) flippant about. :) That's the way I am too about dating, so I get it. I do. I'm just teasing you. Glad to see you posting.

Oh now ain't you sweet!
Not sure when the angstiness begins to infiltrate a relationship -- but this was a week for it. Told him "liking him" was on both the pro and con sides of my list, and his response was "I don't have a list. I prefer just to HAVE a relationship rather than ANALYZE it."
Guess it's a girl thing. So yes, definitely protectively flippant!

hi darling!

dating is weird, at all ages. those things that you don't like are the downside of it, but I think that the positive side wins. especially if he makes you laugh, if you feel good.

take care of yourself!

Thanks, hon!
Yes, I can get obsessive about the downside. I think. I 'm still pretty new to this world of dating again. Certainly do appreciate the positives too.
