Mr. President,

It's high time that you made some comment about the all-out war on reproductive rights in this country. A committee in Louisiana just approved a bill that would ban all abortion if passed, full stop, no exceptions. Every single state in this country has legislation in the works to restrict choice - to restrict bodily autonomy for ( Read more... )

I cannot understand the people who write these bills. When they go on with how sacred life is, they never stop to think on just what will happen to the population. Or what women will do to get rid of an unwanted fetus. I find it odd how the same people who bitch about welfare are usually the same ones who claim to be pro life. Pro misery is more like it.

Grr.

It's not that they hold life sacred. It's that they hate women. =\

He made LGBT pride month, and has a portion of the white house website dedicated to LGBT topics.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/lgbt
I realize that that is not much, but the things going on in those states are things he literally has little influence over. State senates are completely seperate from state congress/senate. Obama is trying to help the LGBT community, has had several LGBT speakers at the white house and is attempting to further LGBT goals. I assumed he was against the bills in state senates, him coming out and admonishing those conservative states won't help him, it will be seen like he is trying to unduly use his federal powers against state senates.
I get that you are frustrated, but he is trying he just is not able to do as much as we all wish he could.

He doesn't get a free pass for having done some things and completely ignored others.

When the House GOP can unanimously pass a bill that redefines rape and is an all out assault on women's rights, and the White House makes NO comment whatsoever, that is unacceptable.

I expect more. If I took on multiple big projects at work and assured everyone I would take care of them, but only got part of them done by the deadline, I would take a lot of shit for it and possibly face disciplinary action.

He doesn't get a free fucking pass for only doing a little of what he said he'd do, and throwing half the goddamn population under the bus.
