Eyesight update

I went to the optician today. There is a small amount of haze which will get better with time and slight discomfort in the right eye which will also improve. The issue is that the prescription is -0.25/-0.75 (down from -6.25/-7.5). The -0.75 in the right eye means the vision is not as crisp as I would like (-0.25 is fine). Do you get the second go for free as they didn't get it perfect first time?

They say you do. What they said during the initial consultation is that they give you free operations as required for the rest of your life providing you have an eye test every 2 years.

Of course this is only to correct presciption changes and is only given to those whose prescriptions are stable so there is at least half a chance that this is a guarantee they can keep.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Reading is fine - much less of a dump than it used to be in the late 80s, though.
