Calling old friends - help with a password!!!

Ok, so this is a goofy request, but if anyone can help my friends can.

Does the phrase "he said she said who said trinity" ring a bell to anyone?

Our home computer crashed and burned this weekend - Windows corruption. I reinstalled XP, and it boots up fine now - with the exception that somehow it has gone into a time machine. The only login options ( Read more... )

However, in the "old" days, it was possible to reset the admin password by removing the battery on the motherboard, thus causing all information on the motherboard to be reset to default (no password). This will also reset all of the "saved" information in the BIOS, can can be dangerous for the uninitiated, however, in your particular case, it would appear that you're already hosed, so it's worth a try. Of course, I have no idea whether or not your motherboard *has* a CMOS battery or not, but it was at least worth a try.
